Cover Saver for YouTube

In short: Cover Saver for YouTube does not collect, share or sell any personal or user data and sends nothing to the developer. It works locally in your browser; its only network requests go to YouTube's own image server.
What the extension does
The extension adds a button to the YouTube video player (regular videos and Shorts). When you click it, the public cover image (thumbnail) of the current video is saved to your browser's Downloads folder.
Information processed on your device
When you click the button, the extension reads the following public information about the current video from the YouTube page open in your browser:
- video ID;
- title;
- view count;
- publication date.
This information is used only to build the name of the saved file, for example 12k_2months_Video title [ID].jpg. The title, view count and publication date end up only in that file name on your device. The extension doesn't keep them anywhere else and never sends them to the developer or to third parties.
Network requests
The extension only sends requests to YouTube's image server (i.ytimg.com) to download the public thumbnail: one request, or up to three for a regular video (four for a Short) when the largest size isn't available and smaller sizes are tried. The video ID is part of the image address, so YouTube receives it, just as when the page itself shows the thumbnail. The requests are sent without cookies and without a referrer and are handled by Google under the Google Privacy Policy. The extension does not send any data to the developer or to any other third party.
What the extension does not do
- No analytics, tracking or advertising.
- No cookies, and nothing is stored apart from the image file you choose to save.
- No access to your Google or YouTube account, your browsing history or other websites.
- No remote code: all code is included in the extension package.
Permissions
The extension runs only on pages of www.youtube.com, where it adds the button to the player. It requests no other browser permissions.

Коротко: Cover Saver for YouTube не собирает, не передаёт и не продаёт никакие персональные или пользовательские данные и ничего не отправляет разработчику. Расширение работает локально в вашем браузере и обращается только к серверу изображений самого YouTube.
Что делает расширение
Расширение добавляет кнопку в плеер YouTube (обычные видео и Shorts). По нажатию публичная обложка (thumbnail) текущего видео сохраняется в папку «Загрузки» вашего браузера.
Какая информация обрабатывается на вашем устройстве
В момент нажатия кнопки расширение считывает со страницы YouTube, открытой в вашем браузере, следующие публичные сведения о текущем видео:
- ID видео;
- название;
- число просмотров;
- дату публикации.
Эти сведения нужны только для имени сохраняемого файла, например 12k_2months_Название видео [ID].jpg. Название, число просмотров и дата публикации попадают лишь в имя файла на вашем устройстве. Расширение нигде больше их не хранит и не передаёт ни разработчику, ни третьим лицам.
Сетевые запросы
Расширение обращается только к серверу изображений YouTube (i.ytimg.com), чтобы скачать публичную обложку: один запрос или до трёх для обычного видео (четырёх для Shorts), если самого большого размера нет и берутся размеры поменьше. ID видео входит в адрес картинки, поэтому YouTube его получает — так же, как когда страница сама показывает обложку. Запросы отправляются без cookies и без referrer, их обрабатывает Google в соответствии со своей Политикой конфиденциальности. Расширение не отправляет никаких данных ни разработчику, ни третьим лицам.
Чего расширение не делает
- Нет аналитики, отслеживания и рекламы.
- Нет cookies; ничего не хранится, кроме файла обложки, который вы сами сохраняете.
- Нет доступа к вашему аккаунту Google или YouTube, истории просмотров и другим сайтам.
- Нет удалённого кода: весь код входит в пакет расширения.
Разрешения
Расширение работает только на страницах www.youtube.com, где добавляет кнопку в плеер. Других разрешений браузера оно не запрашивает.

Расширение соответствует правилам Chrome Web Store в отношении пользовательских данных, включая требования Limited Use (ограниченного использования).
